Digital Project Manager (Web projects focused)

Location: Leeds, UK & Hybrid Remote

£25,000 – £45,000 (Flexible depending on skills & experience) 

Overview

As a key member of the of projects team, the Digital Project Manager will have responsibility for working on some of the agencies key web development projects; securing and maintaining strong trusting relationships with clients, onboarding and delivering exceptional work. 

The role requires someone with a can-do attitude and broad appreciation of marketing, and a desire to learn and advance in the world of digital. You’ll work alongside our Digital Project Leads, Digital Client Managers and our freelance partners to create work that delivers outstanding outcomes for our client’s brands. 

The role and responsibilities 

As a core member of the client services and project management team, the key responsibilities of the Digital Project manager will be to: 

  • Assist in providing excellent customer service to our clients, to support our high client retention record. 
  • Support Strategic Client Leads, Digital Client Managers and Digital Project Leads in the delivery of work to agreed timings and budgets. 
  • Assist in project planning (managing timelines, scope, functionality) and team briefings and scheduling.  
  • Work with Digital Project Leads to ensure projects run according to timeline and scope. 
  • Carry out quality assurance (checking and testing all work across website projects) 
  • Oversee and be responsible for documentation management. 
  • Write technical/functional specifications  
  • Write clear briefs for a web developer  
  • Scope projects – collecting & understanding client requirements or taking a brief 
  • Carry out content population (using content management systems). 
  • Prepare for and help deliver client meetings. 
  • Work alongside the wider team to understand the clients’ goals and objectives. 
  • Respond to client enquiries and requests as required promptly, providing accurate and helpful information. 
  • Collate and create weekly and monthly reports as required, based on our activity undertaken, with the ability to talk through the context. 
  • Develop a knowledge of the brands we work with and their customers, enabling you ensure this is represented in our work. 
  • Ensure contact reports and WIP’s are created and kept up to date, supporting on administrative tasks as required. 

Skills and aptitudes 

There is a need to possess superb organisational and communication skills, ideally with base knowledge across a number of digital channels, with heightened knowledge of website development. Ultimately though, what’s required is a passion for marketing and all things digital. 

A Digital Project Manager must be:

  • Organised and strong in project management, able to juggle multiple strands of activity at once. 
  • Interested in marketing, in interrogating data and insights e.g. using GA (Google Analytics) / GTM (Google Tag Manager) or similar tools. 
  • Knowledgeable across various CMS platforms (WordPress & Umbraco would be a bonus) and be able to hit the ground running across different types of projects.   
  • Excellent at communicating, clearly and concisely, both internally and externally. 
  • Interested in and have an understanding of UX and design practices.  
  • Able to understand or learn to understand sometimes technical language and explain in a simplified manner to clients 
  • Able to write technical briefs which a web developer can clearly understand and act on. 
  • Comfortable with a level of technical knowledge that allows you to confidently test development projects, speak with and understand developers, whilst being able to communicate potentially complex solutions in a client friendly way. 
  • Great at building relationships with clients, freelancers and internal team. 
  • Positive in outlook and approach, passionate about the work and able to motivate others.  
  • Not afraid to challenge – both internal teams, partners and clients to achieve the best results. 
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and to think critically. 
  • Have the ability to adapt to different platforms and software 
  • Have experience in using various tools such as Jira, Confluence, website CMS’ such as WordPress or Umbraco, Figma, Adobe XD or similar.
